CHINESE
HISTORY
The Chinese are the second largest ethnic group in Malaysia after the Malays. The Chinese-Chinese community consists of several sub-ethnic groups, such as Chinese Min, Chinese Yue, Chinese Hakka, Chinese Wu and Northern China. The first settlement opened in Malaysia was established in the 15th century when the Chinese Princess, Hang Li Po was married to the Sultan of Melaka. Since then, the Chinese have grown into the second largest population in Malaysia.
LANGUANGE
The main language used in chinese society is Mandarin, Hokkien, Hakka, Kantonis, Teochew .

CELEBRATION
Chinese festivals have some celebrities celebrated every year.
Chinese New Year
This festival is a priority for family gatherings held by the day. The Chinese community made sure that before this festival ahead, debt was paid and all accounts closed. The preparations for this celebration were made on the 24th day of the 12th day of the month. This festival lasts for 3 weeks.
CHAP GOH MEI
The celebration is celebrated on the 15th day after the new year which is also the last day of the Chinese New Year celebration.

CHING MING FESTIVAL
This festival is celebrated on the last day of the second month of the lunar year. Today, families visit the graves of ancestors to be cleansed and prayed.

MOON CAKE CELEBRATION
This festival is celebrated on the last day of the second month of the lunar year. Today, families visit the graves of ancestors to be cleansed and prayed.
TRADITIONAL COSTUME
The Chinese community has mostly used modern western clothing. However, the traditional costume of the Chinese women is still being used up to now. One is "Samfoo". Samfoo consists of a combination of blouse and pants. This dress is more often used by older people. Another is cheongsam.

HANFU
"Hanfu" dress increasingly popular in traditional weddings in China.

FOOD
Basic food for chinese people is rice. However, the main types of food are cantonese, hokkien, and szechuan. Chinese people practice their own culture or identity.

Also called chinese chess , is a strategy game for two players and is one of the most popular board games in China. Xiangqi is one of the most popular board games in the world. Unique features include the unique movement of pao (cannons), regulations that prohibit the commander (such as "king" in international chess) from meeting in the same line, as well as "river" and "castle" which restrict the movement of some chess pieces.

MUSIC INSTRUMENT
YueQin is closely related to various local Chinese opera. The instrument is often used to accompany Bai ethnic opera, Qingyin Province of Sichuan. Yueqin is also one of the three most important musical instruments in Beijing Opera orchestra. The music you heard was composed from the local Chinese opera lanterns. Music played with this kind of Yueqin is more tuned than traditional Chinese Yueqin
YUEQIN

ERHU
Erhu is categorized as Kordofon tool. It is one of the most popular musical instruments in the family of Hu-qin in China. The Erhu Base is polished and neatly in the shape of the dragon while the bottom is the sound box paired with snake skin. In the Chinese Orchestra, the Erhu is divided into two, first and second century Erhu or simply called the first and second erhu.
PIPA
Pipe is a strapping device that has 4 metal straps. The body is made of wood, its chest is round and its back is convex but its chest surface is horizontal. Some trusses of rope from the wood are attached to the fingers like the fret. Straps are fastened to the lower end of the body and at 4 adjusters adjusted on the edge of the finger board. Its head is carved. Its function is used in the orchestra to accompany the Chinese opera and also as a solo instrument or accompanying the song.

CHINESE FLUET
Flute is the most popular musical instrument in China. It is named as "Zhudi", as it is made of a bamboo and its body has eight holes. The first hole is used for blowing and the flow of blow that enters the bamboo body produces sound. This instrument along with the Chinese orchestral music culture was brought in by immigrants from China to Malaysia in the days before independence.

DANCE
Fan Dance
This type of dance shows that the Chinese fan has the same meaning in the chinese society where past deities have always made the fan a necessity. Furthermore, the wind is a tradition of the Chinese society where the Chinese believe in "Fung Shui" which is a belief in the chinese society generally about a good and bad pentacle for a living in their place. Therefore, this type of dance is played so that the dance can bring good or "Fung Shui" to all members of society.

LION DANCE
Lion dance or chinese "wushi" is a traditional dance in chinese culture which is a dance imitating lion movement by wearing costumes as a lucky bearer. Lion dance is performed in conjunction with Chinese New Year celebrations and other Chinese festivals. These dances are also performed in conjunction with opening business, wedding, or special occasions according to the traditions of the Chinese community.

UMBRELLA DANCE
Umbrella Dance is a popular folk dance during the Han Dynasty in China. The dance comes from a region in China famous for making umbrellas. As in China, this Umbrella Dance has local elements in it. The beauty of this dance in Malaysia is to resemble the original dance in China.
